  • Social Worker Burnout and Ongoing Agency Training

This unapproved dissertation explores the correlation between social worker burnout and ongoing agency training. Burnout is one of the greatest threats to workplace safety and is reaching epic proportions. This burnout impacts the social worker’s desire to stay at the job. Higher levels of burnout contributed to social workers’ “intentions to leave” their jobs thus contributing to the high turnover rate. Burnout negatively impacts staff retention, can affect the solutions offered for children’s problems and can impair treatment outcomes and negatively impact the intervention for children and families. This study was a quantitative correlational study to understand if participation in ongoing agency training impacts child welfare social worker burnout by showing a connection between lower levels of burnout and participation in ongoing agency trainings.
